ACA D&L Timing System

The ACA owns and operates, with D&L Sound Company, a timing system from Orion Timing of Lyon, France.

This is a very sophisticated system that integrates timing chips with finish line cameras.  To maximize the performance of the system, riders need to attach the transponders (aka timing chips) to the front of their bicycles, with the ACA number facing upwards.  Each transponder sends a signal to the system, and this orientation of the chips provides for the best transmission.  Locating the transponder on the front of the bike makes it most visible to the finish line camera.
